Testimonials

"We never imagined the impact or what the Colectivo Tomate project would bring. They have strengthened the workshops, I think emotionally. They have inspired us to be different, to be better every day. It meant hope and that we can achieve several things."

Testimonials

"We appreciate the communication network that was put in place so that we, as neighbors, could interact with each other. We appreciate the communication network that was put in place so that we, as neighbors, could interact with each other. Because it was a day to day where you said 'good afternoon, good morning,' but you didn't know who that person was who is there across the street or lives next to you. With these workshops, that was achieved: the new generations got to know their neighbors in order to form friendships."

Testimonials

"The sum of wills leads to the creation of a great project that, above all, has the task of recognizing and building ourselves as human beings. It was not only to intervene facades, but also to build citizenship from the community."

Testimonials

"The project is very good, it is the integration of people we don't know and we have the opportunity to meet them, to live with them and participate with them. In other words, it is something that unites families and brings people together".

Our purpose

The lack of social cohesion or bonding causes the affected communities to perpetuate narratives that generate exclusion and violence, making it impossible for their members to see themselves as agents of change for their own environments.

In Collective Tomate we work with communities to promote communication based on active listening, in order to detonate encounters, understanding, agreements and transformation.

In 2004, with the interest of investigating the relationship between the arts and spaces, Paola de la Concha created a project called Colectivo Tomate. Over the years, this organization was transformed to generate projects that offered creative solutions to various problems. This led to the first Ciudad Mural project in Xanenetla, Puebla. Vica Amuchástegui, Donají Tejeda, Guillermo Morales, Tomás Darío and Maribel Benítez joined the project. Later, Colectivo Tomate was formed as a civil association with the purpose of creating socio-artistic projects that would connect people and generate trust among them. Since then, Colectivo Tomate has professionalized with the effort and talent of people trained in different disciplines.
